Camp Gabrielle Petit (Germany)

German military camp which fell into Belgian and English hands. The camp was used for distribution. It got abandoned in the early 90’s when the Belgian army left.

pretty much untruth told. camp gabrielle petit was build after WWII. it was build up by the belgian army in the early 50th.

It’s in Dutch, but the bottom line is: Camp Hitfeld was used by the Nazi’s as a troops camp. The Belgian Army took over the camp to use it for distribution towards its other BSD units.

The camp might have been built after WW2, but how come it was a Nazi camp in the first place, like my source says. Wasn’t NRW already in British hands?

I’ve deleted ‘after WW2′ in the post, there are too many different stories about the camp to be found on the net, but it does seem like the camp was built in 1946.
