Castle, built on the foundations of a fortress dating back to 1344. The castle was built in the 17th century and had an impressive garden. In 1667 Louis XIV visited the chateau especially for its French styled garden. In 1967 the castle became abandoned.

Built in 1881, the castle later becomes military property. In 1996 the army leaves the beautiful chateau.


Chateau de Mesen (Belgium)

Built in 1628, the beautiful castle of Mesen served many purposes. When it was sold to a religious order, it became a monastery and elite boarding school for girls (in 1752). In 1905 the castle got a big expansion with one remarkable wing with an impressive chapel. In 1952, the elite boarding school becomes a school for the whole community. Already in 1972 the castle got abandoned.

Built in 1876, this small castle was the residency of a rich contractor in the Antwerp harbor.

The main castle was built in 1680. Once a brothel, once a restaurant, once a barber shop, it still awaits its final destination.

This small castle used to be the mansion of a Belgian governor. Afterwards it was used as a girls school, until it got abandoned.
